Preparing Your Wardrobe For The New Year

(Disclaimer – this activity will require alcohol and for all my non-drinkers, get yourselves that raspberry-cola, you’re going to need it!)

First off, we live in a world of too many options, I think it’s safe to say us more hedonistic and fortunate individuals encounter what we call a “Closet Influx” – where your wardrobe has no room for anything to go in, therefore growing it to such a capacity that nothing goes out either. SO we have ourselves a dilemma you see, but one that can be solved –

Step One – Clear it out Ladies and Gents, and by that, yes I mean remove it all from the wardrobe to the floor, (you know what I mean by this, ALL OF IT) we need clear vision to differentiate one piece of clothing from the other.

Step Two – Collating categories, which means each type of clothing: dresses, tops, short, coats, pants, scarfs, belts, etc. must be placed in a pile

Step Three – Now, we must sift through any unwanted pebbles, so to speak. Placing all things old and unsought into a big garbage bag in a corner and continue to fill with the undesired pieces.

Step Four- Once we have done this, we can happily refold our wanted pile of clothes and place them gently back into the closet. AND YES, there will be many pieces that may break our hearts to part with but it must be done – clutter is not how we will enter the New Year.

And for the final step – when we reach the end of cutting, culling and collecting, a great deed to put into action is charity. With this being such an exciting time of the year for privileged people, majority of the population will go without food, family and miss the whole conception of Christmas, new years and the excitement that arrives around this time of the year – the greatest gift is the gift that gives back. For all the things you don’t want, instead of throwing them away, give them to orphanage or a charity that means something to you.

Happy wardrobe cleaning my sweets!
